Puppy won't pee or poop outside

Please HELP ASAP!

I have an 8 month old female beagle and she has yet to grasp the concept of going outside to do her business. We have tried taking her out every hour, tieing her leash to our waste, even using a puppy pad. She will use the puppy pad 3/4 of the time and the rest near it. She waits until she gets inside after a walk and taking her out to go poop. I need help asap with ways I can train her. Our other beagle is a 1 yr old and he uses a bell to ring at the door when he needs to go out. The female doesn't understand to use this.

Have you tried placing the puppy pee pad by the door inside of the house and then gradually moving it to right outside the door and then gradually taking it away? Also taking her outside with your other dog/dogs usually follow by example so she will see him going outside and want to do the same thing. Most important thing is consistency and patience and lots of praise/a treat when they go to the bathroom outside.Good Luck

I will try the pad trick,

I will try the pad trick, but as far as follwing the other dog...she's in herown world and learns nothing from him. We'll see what happens though, Thanks!

I have a 7 month old female

I have a 7 month old female beagle which I love to death. She is an awesome beagle but she has a problem with peeing and pooping inside. I have just begun to get it undercontrol recently. What I did was I turned on my "EAGLE EYES" and watched her like a hawk. If I detected the slightest sniffing around I quickly rushed her outside. This is where I ran into some trouble. I have 7 dogs and 6 young kids that are direct neighbors of me. After some thinking about i wondered if she was to distracted by the dogs and kids that she though she was out there to play rather than do her business. I shifted strategys and took my dog out to the front lawn (away from all the kids and dogs in my backlawn). Now she gets it and has not had a misshap in over a week. Thats hardly calling it a sucess but for me that is a darn good job considering what she was doing before.

I raised my brother's

I raised my brother's beagle, so I know exactly where you're coming from. Still to this day- she will go to the bathroom inside if she's angry at him or me. Here's a few things you should consider- are you home most of the day or do you work and run errands w/o her. Beagles can be pretty good at making you pay for not getting the attention they assume they deserve. Also, with my yorkie I took her out and wouldn't let her go inside until she'd gone to the bathroom- then I praised the heck out of her and gave her treats. Now she's so well trained that she will hold it for 9 hours because she loves hearing how excited I get when she's does what she's supposed to outside. After 3 years I still get excited when she's does the "right thing". If you punish your dog for going in the house- you give it attention- which negative or positive they'll take whatever they can get. Now, I'm definitely not saying to just let them get away with going into the bathroom in the house, but rethink your punishing tactics. Also, is there ever a time when they go to the bathroom? Right after she eats? Then anticipate when she's going to go and sit outside until she actually does go- maybe even try taking her on little walks. I hope this helps! Good Luck!
