My dogs behavior

My dogs behavior has recently changed and im not sure why......Before she used to love to go out in the morning so she could pee. but now i have to pick her up and take her outside because she doesnt wanna go. she would rather go to the basement and pee. which before she hated going down there. its seems as though she is scared to go outside. she has also become alot more aggresive towards everyone and everything. before she would bark but not its like shes out to get everyone. i also have another dog which is her daughter...and shes aggresive toward her also. can somebody help me in figuring out if something serious is going on with her.

I have a 6 month old puppy

I have a 6 month old puppy that thinks that he should go outside every 2 or less hours during the night. If I don't let him out he will pee, not because he has to but just because he can. My husband and I are getting exhausted and need to know what to do to change his behavior. We both work during the day so he probably sleeps all day and isn't tired at night. We run him and play with him when we get home trying to tire him out so he sleeps at night but so far we have had no luck getting him to sleep at night. Help, we are exhausted.

Old School. Ok. which old

Old School.
Ok. which old School are you talking about?
Post World War Two?

Welcome to 2008 Pal. I know no such thing as Old School for Dogs.

Get on with the new World. this is Post 09-11
Many years after Post War Two.

As with-out saying, go to a Vet or a Dog Club,

Sooner or later, the Dogs will behave better.

After all. how many People are danger drivers?

My Point is; People must change how they behave if they want their dogs to behave.

my dog behavior has changed

my dog behavior has changed after the 4th of July. My vet gave her a pill to relax her but it seemed to not work. she has lost her spirit, she is eating & drinking well that is the only reason why we haven't taken her to the vet. All she want to do is find a place to lay down and just lay there, she will come and greet you and wag her tail and give you a kiss then agian go find a place to isolate her self when normaly she so playful and will jump all over with a lot of kisses. I think she is truamized from the fireworks if she is does anyone know how to help her?. I'm just tring to give her a lot of attention & love.

If the fireworks did scare

If the fireworks did scare your dog, they wouldn't likely still be scaring her unless you're still lighting them near her :) Also, a fearful dog isn't usually lethargic. I'd expect a jumpy, shaky dog that might be hard to find (hiding behind the couch, under the bed, etc.)

It probably isn't a reaction to the pill your vet prescribed either unless it wasn't a one-time dose as it sounds like in your post.

If you're feeling sorry for her and showering her with an exuberant amount of attention or treats, she might be just eating it up... she may have learned that laying there looking sad equals treats and love from Mom and Dad.

She could be ill, however, even though she's still eating/drinking.

Have you called your vet? I think they should know how your dog's mood has changed. The phone call shouldn't cost you anything.

Thank you so much, we did

Thank you so much, we did decide to make the call to the vet & make a appt better safe then sorry. by the way she seem to be more upbeet this morning jump on me & started giveing me her normal kisses good morning like always but we are still keeping the appt. thank you again you made a lot of sence. to all you pet lovers out there well i guess to everybody (live, love.dream & laugh )

I'm glad you were able to

I'm glad you were able to make an appointment with your vet. It's great news she was more her usual self this morning! I hope that progress continues!

We have a bullmastiff that

We have a bullmastiff that attacked our english bulldog over a pretzel that feel on the floor. He has done this several times before to some of our other dogs, but not just over food. Anyother time he is so laid back and sweet. He really hurt her eye, she had to undergo surgery to repair it. Do you think that any kind of training will stop this behavior? Please let me know.

Is your bull-mastiff

Is your bull-mastiff neutered?

There are a lot of things you can do to work on possessiveness.

Try hand feeding and/or adding really yummy bits to the bowl while he's eating (like little bits of hot dog, etc.). When you're sure he won't bite you, take the bowl away for a few seconds while he's eating.

Changes in behavior don't

Changes in behavior don't usually spontaneously combust, but it can take some good old detective work to get to the
bottom of the issue.

It doesn't sound like your dog was spooked into preferring your basement to the yard, especially since she was
previously fearful of the basement.

Try to think back to the couple weeks prior to the 'change'. Has anyone's schedule changed, home more or less or at different times? More or less visitors? Usual level of exercise? Has her food changed or has she been eating any different amounts or at different times? Has there been a lot of excitement, tension or sadness in the house? You should evaluate how you've been feeling the past few weeks as well. Dogs are very sensitive to their owners!

Knowing your dog and her pup's age could provide insight to their relative mental/physical developmental stage.

Does she act any differently if you have the leash and she knows she's going out for fun vs. necessity?
