For the best answer, I would talk to a vet. But in general, I think the best thing you can do is get a good quality puppy food (I recommend Eukanuba). Puppy foods are higher calorie and have lots of stuff in them to help puppies grow. So since your rescue is still a puppy, I would just make sure it gets fed well and I bet it will be up to a good weight in no time.

you definately must consult a vet. if the puppy was a rescue and appears malnourished, she could very well have parasites or other medical conditions that requires treatment. then while you're there, ask the vet about appropriate food, supplements, and feeding schedules to get your girl healthy.
