i just adopted a 2 y/o lab and possibly collie mix she is a great pup. But she loves to lick and lick and lick and lick, she's just a total sweetheart never barks or is hostile, but when we go to bed thats all she wants to do? any suggestions other than kenneling her at night?

3 year old golden Lab will
3 year old golden Lab will not stop licking couch....only does it when alone....but soaks cuch with licking....we understand that he probably does it out of lonliness....but this isnt healthy with the protective stain coating on couch....How can we get him to stop?
Our Maggie was like that
Our Maggie was like that when we brought her home 4 years ago - she slept with us and we had to cover our faces to get her to stop. However, a little schooling works wonders and she now knows that 'nite-nite' means a quick kiss for Mom and Dad and maybe her brother and to snuggle down to sleep.
