Fighting between two cats

We have two cats both together since 2003. Last Friday they began fighting so bad we have to keep them separated and have no idea what is causing this behavior. The younger cat is 5 years old and acts fightened towards the older (13 years old) male and grows so upset she releases urine wherever the confrontation occurs. Both are declawed and nuetered/spayed. Both have had no problems until now.

What can we do to regain calm between them?

How do I prevent a cat from

How do I prevent a cat from attacking other cats? I had to give her to a dog only friend 2 yrs. ago. Now the friend is moving in with me. I have 2 other cats that she has attacked in the past and the friend is moving in with me. We want to keep the cat but are afraid making the other cats neurotic as neither of them is aggressive. The aggressive cat was found as a stray when she was 2 yrs. old-that was 2 yrs. ago. She shows no aggression toward dogs

I have heard that appeasing

I have heard that appeasing pheromones often help cats get along. You can purchase them at Petco for cats in a air freshener type of thing that releases the pheromones. It is much like the pheramones that are released by mother cats to calm their babies, or sometimes it is made of lavender and chamomile.
