!0 year old female cat refusing to use litter box
I have two 10 year old female cats. One is refusing to use her litter box and is going to the bathroom in my carpet. She was sneaking into my kids bathroom and going in their bath tub. However, I have been keeping the door shut to prevent her from doing it. In the past that has worked and she would resume with the litter box. There does not appear to be anything wrong with her stool, and just now she urinated in the carpet. I am nine months pregnant and my husband is now pressuring me to get rid of her if she keeps doing this. I really do love both my cats and I would love to keep them. Help.

My suggestion is to make
My suggestion is to make sure that the litter box is kept very clean. Sometimes cats can be very picky about going in one that hasn't been scooped or doesn't have fresh litter. Perhaps set up a second box so your cats can have their own boxes. My cat did this until I set up a second box upstairs. Also, make sure to clean the areas that your cat peed. If they can still smell it, they may think it is okay to keep going right there. If he keeps it up, take the cat to the vet to see if there is some sort of medical problem.
Have you recently changed
Have you recently changed litter brands. Some cats do not like change. Make sure to use the litter that she prefers.
Also make sure the litter box is in a quiet place. Look around to see if something has changed around the litter box. New freezer, washing machine, etc.
Some cats like to urinated in one box and poop in another. Even if this was not her usual thing before, she could of started wanting this.
I behavior like this can be fixed. I hope you won't get rid of your cat because of this. Tell your husband to be patience.
Be sure to take her to the vet!!
My first thought when I read
My first thought when I read this was that the kitty needs to be checked out by your vet to determine she doesn't have anything medical going on, as this isn't normal behavior for cats. The other thing I would suggest is adding another litter box, as the previous writer did. I have seen references in more than one source saying you should have 1 more litter box per number of cats you have. Good luck!
